Baby! Baby!

Hi Stampers,

I wanted to share some more of the fun 3X3 cards we made at my last stamp camp - these cards are great for gift bags or just a little note.

These baby cards use the Baby Bundle Stamp Set which is just perfect for the Paper Piecing Technique I used for both of them - one in Blushing Bride and one in Pear Pizzazz. I stamped the buggy stamp on the Whisper White and then on Blushing Bride or Pear Pizzazz and then cut the colored cardstock out to paper piece it. I stamped the baby's face after I stamped the buggy. All of the stamping is in Basic Black. I also stamped the teddy bear and cut it out and then I used the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch for the heart and stamped it with the buggy stamp again to get the dots on it. Blushing Bride marker for the heels and I added a pearl on this one and it's finished. The DSP background pieces are from Nursery Nest. Perfect for that next baby shower!

Another Baby Celebration!

Hope that everyone is having a good week and looking forward to the long holiday weekend. This week, we had another shower to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our great nephew and this time the theme was the Cubs - our family's favorite team.

This is the card I made for my nephew and niece. I used a retired color Brilliant Blue, Real Red and Whisper White which are of course the Cubs colors. This card uses the Home Run and Word Play stamp sets. I first stamped the baseballs randomly on the Brilliant Blue in Versamark ink and then heat embossed them with Clear Embossing powder . Then I stamped the sentiment "So Worth the Wait" in White craft ink and then heat embossed that in White. The center strip of Real Red cardstock was run through the Square Lattice embossing folder before I attached it to the card and added two White Brads. Congratulations is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

We can't wait to meet this new member of our family!

Baby on Board

Hi Stampers,

Hope that everyone is ready for all the really hot weather we are having and will have for the next week or so.

Today I went to a very fun baby shower for my nephew and his wife (niece-in-law?) and so I'm sharing the card I made for that happy occasion. They used Stampin' Up Decor Elements for the Baby's room - the alphabet that recently retired so I thought I'd made the card to match their theme.

I used the Fox & Friends stamp set because the animals from that set go with the Baby's Room decor. I stamped each animal on Whisper White and then cut them out. The colors here are Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Garden Green & Not Quite Navy. I decided to use the new Pennant Punch to make balloons that the animals are holding. I used Baker's Twine for the balloon strings. The Pennants are punched from coordinating cardstock and I used the Polka Dot pattern from the Regals DSP Stack for the smaller pennants. The letters are from the Big Shot Naturally Serif Decorative Strip Sizzlit - the letters fit perfectly on the pennants.

Congrats to Kyle & Jackie! Can't wait to meet our new great-nephew this fall!

Celebrating Upcoming Arrivals!

Today's projects are two cards I created for sisters from our church who are both having babies this fall/winter. Unfortunately I had to miss their baby shower, but I wanted to share the cards with you today.

The first card is for the sister who is having a boy and uses the Big Shot to create a baby bib - here I used Marina Mist, Crumb Cake and Real Red. The stamp set is Nursery Necessities, which retired in June. I used the Scallop Circle die for the Big Shot but left off the top of the scallop putting the fold of the card lower on the die. Since that die will cut two layers of cardstock at once, it worked just fine and I had the bib. The sailboat image is colored with markers and stamped on Whisper White. Then I used the new larger Scallop Circle punch with Real Red. I also used Real Red Grosgrain ribbon for the string for the bib. I really like these colors together!

The other sister is having a girl, so I used the same Scallop Circle die but with a totally different look. I again used the same die but left the fold on the side for this baby carriage. Then I used the Polka Dot Embossing folder for the Pretty in Pink carriage. I used the new Scallop Ribbon Border Punch for the white buggy trim and the 1.25" circle punch for the wheels. The accents are from the Sweet Pea felt that was in the Occasions Mini catalog - such cute accents.
