Jordan's Birthday

Hi Stampers,

Well, it's been another busy week - May always seems to be busy!  We celebrated my older son Jordan's birthday yesterday and so today I'm sharing the card I made for him.

The inspiration for this card was this picture from a wedding Jordan and his girlfriend Lisa went to last weekend:

Since I had the Dapper Dad set, I decided to make this card for his birthday, using Island Indigo and Whisper White.  The base of the card is Island Indigo and the front is Whisper White that I scored every 1/2 inch using the Scoring Board.  3 Circles for buttons and the sentiment from Bring on the Cake embossed in white complete the card.

Jordan had fun celebrating his birthday - he's had an eventful year - last summer in Slovakia on a missions trip and almost 2 months ago he started his first full time job.  He and Lisa continue working with the high school group at their church together as well.  We love Lisa and she's become a great addition to our family as well as Jordan to hers.

Moving Forward

Hi Stampers,

Well it seems like we've had all 4 seasons in the last week or so here in Chicagoland - had the A/C on for 2 days because it was in the 80's and now the heat's back on - crazy weather - I'm just glad it didn't snow!

Today's share is one of the cards we made at April's Moving Forward class, featuring the Ronald McDonald House stamp set for this year - Stampin' Up donates money from each stamp set sold to the Ronald McDonald House charities.

This card uses the bicycle, bird and flower stamps from this set and the colors are Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Midnight Muse.  I stamped the bicycle image in Midnight Muse and then used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out the image and background piece.  I also used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to add the bird and the flowers right where I wanted them.  This is a Z-fold card so the Real Red card base is scored at 5.5 and 2.75".  I ran the Daffodil Delight piece through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan embossing folder. I cut the stamps from the Moving Forward stamp set apart so I could use the sayings separately as I've done here with the Thinking of You which was stamped in Midnight Muse and then punched with the Word Window punch and the Midnight Muse piece with the Modern Label punch.  The small flower is punched with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch.

This cheery card would brighten anyone's day.  Hope you enjoyed it.

Keep Stamping - hope to see you at my next class - Copy the Catalog on May 18!  RSVP today!

Rain, Rain go away

Hi Stampers,

Well it's definitely been April showers around here - I think we set a record for rain in April unfortunately as many in my area have been dealing with floods in the last week.

But with all this April rain, hopefully we'll have some great flowers in May!

I've got a new card to share with you and uses the Best of Flowers set - these great Best of sets from Stampin' Up are great - get yours today!  Each of the Best of Sets (Love, Flowers, Butterflies) features a new image in addition to the "classics".  I used this set to remake a card I had made a while back for a friend of mine.  The colors are Calypso Coral, Basic Black and Whisper White.

I stamped the daisy stamp from this set 3 times and used the square punch to punch it out and the next size up to punch out the black squares behind the flowers.  For the background I stamped the daisy in Calypso Coral and added a sentiment from Sassy Salutations stamped in Basic Black, as well as some Black Polka Dot ribbon.

Don't forget that Stampin' Up released the Retired List for Accessories and Stamp Sets - you can find the lists and more at my Stampin' Up Website - www.dawndstamps.stampinup.net!

Hi Stampers,

Just wanted to take a minute to say Happy Easter to you all!  I hope that you have the opportunity to go to church tomorrow and celebrate Easter and the Jesus' resurrection.

Today I'm sharing an easy card to create that uses one of the single stamps in the Spring Mini Catalog called Easter Blessings.  This card uses Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant as well as one of the doilies from the Spring Mini.  The stamp is cut out with one of the Oval Framelits and accented with pearls.  The ribbon is the Elegant Eggplant Polka Dot ribbon.  An easy card to make but very pretty and perfect colors for Easter.

I hope that you enjoy a great holiday with your family and friends and remember that just like at Christmas, Jesus is the reason for the season!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi Stampers,

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!  It's one of my favorite holidays judging from the amount of deccorations I have.  They dyed the Chicago River green today (or more green than usual) and we've had our share of parades for sure.

Today I'm sharing several projects I made using the same colors and stamp sets.  One is landscape and the other is portrait.  I used the shamrock from the Lucky Day single stamp in Gumball Green, Whisper White and Summer Starfruit.  I used both the back and front of the Gumball Green DSP stack  as well as the Summer Starfruit ribbon.  Rhinestones accent the shamrocks on both cards as well.   I used the sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes with 2 different punches for both as well - one for St. Patrick's Day and one as an anniversary card for one of my son Jordan and his girlfriend, who are celebrating their one year anniversary on St. Patrick's Day - getting to know Lisa this past year has been great and she's been a great addition to our regulars at stamp camps too!
