Think Spring!

Hi Stampers,

I think spring finally is here in Chicago - to say that it was a tough winter here is certainly an understatement - we had snow last Monday!  This was a card I cased from somewhere for my February stamp camp - I used the single stamp Blessed Easter for this card - I actually cut the sentiment off the stamp so I could use them separately - especially
since I like tulips!

I stamped the tulips in Black StazOn ink on Shimmery White cardstock and then I watercolored them with Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi inks.  I used
the Circle Framelit to cut out the tulips and Crushed Curry circles and then the Starburst Framelit for the Basic Black piece behind it.  Crushed Curry Chevron ribbon and a sentiment from the hostess set Express Yourself complete the card.

Just a reminder that the Stampin Up Retired List comes out on Monday and it's Free Shipping from April 21-25.  The retired products are all while supplies last.

Hope you enjoy celebrating Easter with your family & friends!

So much can happen in a month...

Hi Stampers,

It's been awhile since I've posted, but the last month has been a little overwhelming for me - after going for my regular check up, I found out at the end of February that I needed to have surgery and that I have cancer and so I will be having treatment for that starting next week.  The prognosis is really good, but that along with some post-op complications has meant that everything else has had to take a back seat to getting well.  A little over three weeks after surgery, I'm finally starting to feel better and up to posting again.  I would like to thank all my family and friends for all their visits, cards, flowers and meals for us - it means so much to me!

Today's card is one that I cased from somewhere on the web a while back.  I love the colors in this card, which uses the Fresh Prints DSP Stack from the Occasions catalog as the color pallette - Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake .  I stamped the Vivid Vases single stamp on Whisper White cardstock and then again on several of the patterns in the stack and then cut the vases out and paper pieced them onto the white.  You can do this with any DSP and it will look different.  I attached the piece of DSP as the background and then the Coastal Cabana piece and then used Dimensionals to pop the white piece off the Coastal Cabana and accented it with a button from the In Color buttons.  The sentiment is from the set A Dozen Thoughts.  I love this paper stack and the cheerful colors and the vase single stamp is also so cute.

This set makes me think that spring is finally on the way - at least I hope so after the terrible winter we had here in Chicago.  It seems like spring won't ever get here, but I'm hoping it will - soon!  I would appreciate your good wishes and prayers as I start chemo and as I look forward to Jordan and Lisa's wedding next month!
