Hi!

Hopefully the rain in Chicago is gone for now and this card will remind you that it is spring - despite yesterday's 30 degree temperature drop in just a few hours. This card was one of the ones everyone made at my "Trendy Trees" stamp camp Friday night and is cased (that's stamp talk for copied) from somewhere - I don't remember where. Anyway, it just says spring to me. It's using Oval All (from the Occasions Mini) Trendy Trees and the Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner - a must for this set I think, Basic Grey ink & cardstock, Baja Breeze cardstock, ink and ribbon, Regal Rose ink & cardstock, So Saffron ink, the Scallop Square & Oval punches and the Large Oval Punch. Hope you are all enjoying a great weekend! At least for today the weather in Chicago is finally nice. Today I'm sharing a card with you that I made for a swap earlier this year. It uses the new Big Shot Embosslit SU Sweetest Stem, which coordinates nicely with the Sweet Stems stamp set and the Raspberry Tart DSP. I also used the Thank You Kindly Stamp Set, Pretty in Pink, Kiwi Kiss and Rose Red cardstock, the Scallop Square punch and Basic Grey for the sentiment. Hope you enjoy the weather! I'll be doing some cleaning since it's our town's "throw out as much garbage as you want for free" week, it's a good time to spring clean and to spend time catching our favorite teams in action this weekend - the Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks!

Well, it's Thursday and it looks like spring is finally here - bright and sunny at last! I thought I would post a Sympathy card that I made for someone. It seems that there are times when we need more of this type of card than any other so I thought I'd share this one with you.

It uses the great new stamp set Thoughts & Prayers, Chocolate Chip Ink, cardstock and Wide Ribbon, the Versamark Pad & Pastels, as well as DSP (can't remember which one), Lavender Lace Cardstock and Confetti White cardstock. I used the Big Shot Top Note die to cut the Confetti White and the Horizontal Slot punch for the ribbon. The technique involved is "Poppin Pastels" which has been around for a long time, but looks great with this set. You stamp the branch/flower stamp in Versamark and use a q-tip to color with pastels over it (Lavender Lace & Certainly Celery in this case).

It's Monday again - hope that everyone had a great Easter weekend - it was great to have my son home from college for Easter weekend and spend time with family & friends! Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter and share this card - we made this card for my Big Shot Stamp Camp. It uses the SU Background #1 Texturz Plate (on Almost Amethyst CS), Simple Flower Embosslit and SU Little Leaves Sizzlit (in Certainly Celery) for the Big Shot. I added half pearls from the Pretties Kit and very "springy" Tea Party DSP. I used a sponge dauber to accent the Almost Amethyst & So Saffron Flowers, the Certainly Celery SAB Ribbon and Happy Easter from "A Good Egg". Now I just hope the weather warms up for Easter so we don't have to wear winter coats to church! Have a great weekend!

I just wanted to share this card with you - I made if for my niece's family bridal shower on Saturday - a fun reason to make a card. The stamp is from a set from last year's Spring Mini called Big on Spring and I embossed it in white on Shimmery cardstock then I used the sponge dauber to add Pink Passion - emboss resist is the name of this technique. Then I added half pearls from the Pretties kit and stamped small flowers from Simply Said in Pink Passion and used this cool striped paper from the Rockabilly DSP since her wedding colors are Pink Passion & Black. The base card is Shimmery White cardstock as well and the "ribbon" is Pink Passion as well. Hope everyone has a great day - too bad there's actually snow on the ground here in April! I really think spring is around the corner somewhere, we just don't know which corner.

Just wanted to share this masculine card I created with one of the sets in the new Occassions mini catalog, which began yesterday. This card uses the set "Eight Great Greetings", as well as the Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP (this paper is somewhere between DSP and Textured Cardstock - it is really great and easy to work with), Sahara Sand CS, Chocolate Chip Ribbon & Ink, Vintage Brads, the Paper Piercer & Mat and Baja Breeze CS with the Big Shot Texture Plates Kit #4. Hope you like this card - I created it for the Windy City Stampers monthly meeting. They are a great group of demonstrators I been a part of since I started with Stampin' Up in 2000! This group is one of the best things about being a demonstrator!
