Only one more day for the current catalog...

Hi Stampers,

Well, only one more day to order from this year's catalog and I thought I'd share a card we made with almost all retiring items. I cased this from somewhere and it was a pretty simple card to make.

The colors are Blushing Bride & Whisper White. All of the items here are retiring except for the Whisper White cardstock and the Rhinestones. I used the butterfly punch on Blushing Bride DSP and the Finial Press Embossing Folder for the background. Two pieces of Blushing Bride Satin ribbon finish this card.

The second card is also from my Copy the Catalog class and uses the Delightful Doilies stamp set (not retiring) and the Flirtatious Specialty DSP (the pink doily) which is retiring. The colors here are Concord Crush, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White - I really like this color combo! the Thank You is from Curly Cute and is accented with a Rhinestone.

Sorry it's been a while...

Life has certainly been busy for me lately and I'm sorry that's meant I haven't posted any projects lately. Working full time, hosting Easter and my son's busy senior year of high school have been keeping me busy but I have a project to share with you today. Also I want to point out that the list of Retired Stamp is available today - the top icon on the left hand side.

I cased this project from a swap I received somewhere - a meeting or Leadership I don't know which but this is one of the projects that will be available at my Card Buffet Stamp Camp on April 27. A Card Buffet, for those who aren't familiar with it means that I offer anyone attending this stamp camp about 10 or so cards to choose from and they choose 6 projects to make from the buffet. Sign up today for this stamp camp if you haven't already!

This project uses the stamp set Flower Fest, which is one of the sets that is on the Retired List this year. I used Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade as the colors. I love these colors together for spring or summer. I stamped the flowers: Calypso Coral on Calypso Coral, Pacific Point on Tempting Turquoise, Concord Crush on Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade on Lucky Limeade for the leaves. I had to cut out the Tempting Turquoise flower, but for the other two I used the Five Petal Flower and Fancy Flower punches. I used Calypso Coral ribbon and some Pearls to highlight the flowers. The DSP is from the Sweet Shoppe Collection (only available until April 30) and the sentiment is from Delightful Dozen.

One Last Chance...

"One Last Chance" is the theme for Stampin' Up's Retiring Product lists this year and so with only a very few days left until our new catalog begins, I thought I'd share a few cards using sets that will be retiring June 30. You can still order these stamp sets, but you have to hurry - order through my website by clicking the Shop button on the left side of my blog.

Anyway, the first card I'm sharing is one that uses the Wow Flowers set and I created it for a convention swap a few years back. It uses Tempting Turquoise which is remaining in the Brights Family, Tangerine Tango which is a returning color and Kiwi Kiss which is retired (but you could easily substitute the new Pear Pizzazz for the Kiwi. The images are all stamped on Whisper White and then punched with our 1.25' & 1 3/8" Circle and Scallop Circle punches. The sentiment from Short & Sweet finishes the card.

The next card is from "Embrace Life" which is another great set - I have so many samples with this set that I made or swapped for and it's a favorite. This card uses Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie as well as Chocolate Chip ink and narrow ribbon. The focal image is stamped in Black Staz-On on Watercolor Paper with Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie ink using Stampin' Up's Blender Pens.

I hope that everyone enjoys and "storm-free" and fun weekend. It's hot again here in Chicagoland but I'm not complaining after spending 28 hours without power this week due to Wednesday's storm - that delayed this post a bit as I tried to catch up and finish preparing for my "Copy the Catalog" stamp camp, which was last night - I'll be posting samples from that soon.

Upsy Daisy Baskin Robbins

Well it appears summer is here - storms and all. After Friday's storms, we survived 24 hours with no power over the weekend and boy were we glad when we had air conditioning again since it's 90 degrees here in Chicagoland. I have survived 2 days of being in the kitchen at our church's VBS and feeding 250 hungry people each morning - we're serving lots of lemonade in this heat, that's for sure. Anyway, today's sample uses the Upsy Daisy set - one of my favorites. I made it a while back at a group meeting with some of my feloow demonstrators. The DSP used here is Sweet Always - it's retiring at the end of the month - I called it the Baskin-Robbins paper because that's what the colors remind me of. It also uses Ice Circle brads and Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon.

A soon to be retired card

Just wanted to share a card with you - this was for a workshop I had this past weekend. It uses the soon-to-be retired set Blooming with Love. The color inspiration for this card was the also soon to retire Raspberry Tart DSP. This card shows several different techniques - the flowers are watercolored in Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and Kiwi Kiss (stamped in Basic Black on watercolor paper). The card is Kiwi Kiss (also retiring). The vases are stamped on different cardstock and Raspberry Tart DSP, cut out and placed over the base stamped piece - paper piecing. This particular card is a "z-fold" card. The watercolored panel opens to reveal the greeting underneath. This is a really quick and easy card. Hope you enjoy it!
