Hi everyone,

Just wanted to post one of the samples from my Manhattan Stamp Camp last Friday night - this stamp featured cards and a box using the Manhattan Style watch colors and stamp sets from the current catalog. This technique is called "Reinker Spread" which was shown at a Stampin' Up regional in Seattle earlier this year.

It may not be easy to see in the picture, but the rose from 5th Avenue Floral is stamped in Whisper White craft ink and heat embossed in white on Shimmery cardstock. Put the rose in a tray and then spray it with water (alot of water). Then you take a few colors of reinker one a time and use the Aquapainter to watercolor with them - the lightest color first and then darker colors. My sample uses Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy. The wet cardstock causes the color to spread but the embossing holds in its own "section" of the flower. After you're done applying the colors, stand it up to dry. The excess ink and water run down the flower but it's fine because you cut it out for the card. It's a really cool technique and I can't wait to try it with more colors - you can emboss in other colors as well. This card uses Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Shimmery White cardstock, Baja Breeze wide stitched ribbon and Sincere Salutations stamped in Not Quite Navy.

Have a great weekend and don't forget my next stamp camp "Copy the Catalog" is coming up on Friday, June 26th at 7:00 p.m. Also, don't forget my special for June - place a $50 order or attend this June stamp camp and get the new catalog for FREE!

Manhattan Style

Hope everyone enjoyed the fact that the spring weather seems like it's here to stay. Today's sample showcases the style of my next stamp camp - Manhattan Style. This is from this year's Stylewatch section in the Catalog - pages 8-9 in the Spring/Summer idea book. We will be making projects in this style on May 29 - join us! Details are on my website - link from the Upcoming events tab on my blog. This is a card we made at my Big Shot stamp camp a few months back. It uses Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Whisper White cardstock, the Manhattan Big Shot Embossing folder and the 5th Avenue Floral Stamp Set. I also used Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain for the bow. It's not too late to sign up for this camp - contact me today!
