Welcome to the July Blog Tour!

I hope that you enjoy all of the samples on this tour from the great new 2009-10 Stampin' Up! Catalog & Idea Book. I have chosen the new stamp set "Falling Leaves" and its coordinating wheel "Bright Blessings" for these samples. Enjoy!

This first sample is done with Ruby Red & Soft Suede Cardstock and inks. I used the Soft Suede ink for the jumbo wheel and wheeled it on Naturals Ivory cardstock. I stamped the leaf from the Falling Leaves set in Ruby Red, cut it out and attached it with a dimensional on the wheeled piece. I also used the Big Shot with the Many Thanks Sizzlit for the Thanks letters and attached those with Tombo adhesive. Vintage mini-brads on either side of the Thanks complete this quick card.

My second card uses a technique I haven't really used in a while - Poppin' Pastels. Each leaf from Falling Leaves is stamped in Versamark on Very Vanilla cardstock and then colored with Stampin' Pastels using a sponge dauber (More Mustard, Really Rust, Old Olive and Not Quite Navy). Each leaf is punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch and the coordinating cardstock is punched with the 1 3/8" circle punch. The greeting is done the same way with Old Olive from the On Your birthday set and I think this card makes a great fall masculine birthday card (my dad's birthday is in September, so that's why I thought about this card). I used Old Olive cardstock for the base and Textured Chocolate Chip cardstock.

My final sample uses the Big Shot again. I used Kraft cardstock with the Top Note die. Then I stamped the leaves in Versamark and embossed them with Clear Embossing powder. I stamped the acorn circle with Chocolate Chip Craft ink and clear embossed it too. The cardstock used is Certainly Celery, Ruby Red, More Mustard and Not Quite Navy and it is torn across the bottom of each image. I also used the 5/8 grosgrain ribbon in Chocolate Chip.

All Star Birthday

Hello and Happy Monday everyone!

Hope you enjoyed the fall weather this weekend - usually don't have to wear a sweatshirt at a picinic in July but that's Chicago weather I guess (this year anyway). Today's card is one that I created for my husbands's birthday yesterday. He spent his birthday driving a van full of high schoolers home from their summer trip in Colorado - glad that he and my younger son and all the others made it back safely from their trip! Anyway, I made this simple card for him using the Sporting and Just Baseball stamp sets, Real Red, Brilliant Blue cardstock, inks and markers (to color in the All Star Stamp) (Cubs colors of course) and Kraft and Whisper White cardstock. Enjoy your week - hope it warms up a little!

Hi there and Happy Tuesday!

This post is another sample from my Copy the Catalog Stamp Camp and features my favorite toy in the catalog - the Big Shot! I used 4 different Big Shot dies to duplicate this project, which came from "Stampin' Success" which is the magazine you get every month only if you're a demonstrator. Anyway, this card uses 2 retired products, but you could always substitute another color of green for the Kiwi Kiss leaves and ribbon - I miss that color! Anyway, the flowers are made from the Birds & Blooms dies in Lavender Lace and Eggplant Envy. I used the Top Note die in Vanilla and then used the Texture Plates to give it some more texture. I used Lovely Leaves die for the leaves and the Horizontal Slot punch to put the ribbon through. The card base is Barely Banana and the centers of the flowers are Ice Circle Rhinestone brads (in purple). The Fire Square Brads are this week's "Deal of the Week". I hope that everyone is enjoying a great holiday weekend! I thought I'd share something from the new catalog - and with 2 of the new In Colors - Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. It shows off the new Circle Circus set - one of the ones we could pre-order as demonstrators. I used the Scallop Circle and Circle punches as well as Clear Rhinestone Brads and Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon - this ribbon comes in all 6 In Colors and I've already ordered it in every color! I made this card for my shoebox swap this past week with the great group of demonstrators who I get to meet with every month! I'll be showing you more great samples from this meeting over the next few weeks.
