Happy Father's Day!

Hi Stampers,

I hope that everyone is enjoying their Father's Day!  A special shout out to my own dad and to my husband as well, both great dads!

Today I'm sharing 2 cards both made with the recently retired Dapper Dad set from the Occasions mini catalog - different colors, but the same stamp (I apologize for the cards being cut off a little bit - something is up with my scanner):

This one uses Gumball Green, Basic Black & Very Vanilla,  the Chevron Embossing Folder, the Delightful Dozen and Patterned Plaids Stamp set and the recently retired First Editions DSP as well as the card base which is Crumb Cake.

This card is Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand.  The watch is again from Dapper Dad and this time I used the Argyle Embossing Folder and Oval Framelits.  I added a Rhinestone on the watch as well.  The greeting is from the recently retired Best Dad Ever set.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

Keep Calm - Go Hawks!

Hi Stampers,

The "Keep Calm" sentiment is all the rage and it's easy to create a project using that saying with  My Digital Studio, Stampin' Up's Digital Crafting Software.

Anyone who has watched a Hawks game with me knows that "Keep Calm" does not how I am at all, but when I bought this t-shirt last weekend, I realized how easy this would be to create in MDS in honor of my favorite hockey team- the Chicago Blackhawks, who are in the Stanley Cup Final starting tonight.

One of the things I love about MDS is that it uses Stampin Up colors and images so I don't have to guess at the colors, because I already know them after 13 years as a Stampin' Up Demonstrator.

I used Real Red for the background and the Keep Calm Font in Basic Black as well as the Blackhawks logo combined to make this easy project.

You can download a 30 day trial of My Digital Studio and see how you like it.  Stampin' Up releases new downloads every Tuesday that you can purchase as well - and sometimes free downloads as well!  Ask me how you can download MDS today!

I'm getting ready for my Open House Event on Friday, June 28th - hope you can join me - RSVP today to dawndstamps@gmail.com!

In with the new...Catalog that is!

Hi Stampers,

Well the end of one catalog means the beginning of another - this year's new Stampin' Up catalog is full of great new stamp sets and accessories!

I'm featuring a card today that I made for my demonstrator shoebox this month - it shows lots of new products from this year's catalog:

This card uses Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.  The stamp set is called Label Love and it's stamped twice here - once in Melon Mambo and once in Midnight Muse and punched with the new Artisan Label punch as well as the 1.25" Scallop Circle punch.  The banners were made with the new Gingham Garden DSP as well as the matching Washi Tape.  A butterfly in Melon Mambo punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch and I added some Rhinestones too.  The background is the new Mosaic Madness embossing folder for the Big Shot.

Love the new catalog!  Join me at my Open House on June 28th to use some of these great new produts - contact me today to get the details at dawndstamps@gmail.com.

Keep stamping,

Straight from the Catalog

Hi Stampers,

Well, after it seemed like April dragged by, May went by in a flash.  My Blackhawks are in the Western Conference finals, school ended, work is busy and it's all a blur.  The Stampin' Up catalog also comes to an end this week and so I'm sharing another of the cards we made at this year's Copy the Catalog Stamp Camp.

It's a cute baby card found on page 61 of the 2012-13 catalog.  The colors are Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.  The stamp set is Baby Bundle,  which is retiring and the buggy is stamped twice in Black StazOn - once on the Whisper White piece and once on Pool Party to add some color.  I used the Daffodil Delight and Pool Party ink to watercolor the booties, heart and wheels.  I also used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the booties to hang off the buggy.  Daffodil Delight Seam binding and button help make this card cute.  Also lots of Big Shot items - the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders and Edgelits on the Whisper White.  The buggy image and Pool Party are cut out with the Window Frame Collection Framelits.

Don't forget that until Monday, you can order from the old catalog & the new catalog!  The Spring Mini Catalog ends today.

Have a great Weekend!

Baja Breeze soon to be gone for good...

Hi Stampers,

Hope that you are enjoying the long holiday weekend!

Today I'm going to share a card from my recent "Copy the Catalog" stamp camp where I find samples in Stampin' Up publications or from blogs and copy them.

The first sample uses the retiring color Baja Breeze as well as Basic Gray and Whisper White.  I made this card 6.5 X 3.75 and the copied the original on page 141 of this year's catalog.  I used the 1/16 punch to punch small circles and then one of the punch pack punches to punch out the flowers, which I lined up using the Grid Paper on the Basic Gray cardstock.  I also used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the Congratulations greeting from Sassy Salutations.  Some Basic Gray stitched ribbon and a Rhinestone completes this card.

Just a few days left to order retired stamps and accessories!  New catalog starts May 31!

Jordan's Birthday

Hi Stampers,

Well, it's been another busy week - May always seems to be busy!  We celebrated my older son Jordan's birthday yesterday and so today I'm sharing the card I made for him.

The inspiration for this card was this picture from a wedding Jordan and his girlfriend Lisa went to last weekend:

Since I had the Dapper Dad set, I decided to make this card for his birthday, using Island Indigo and Whisper White.  The base of the card is Island Indigo and the front is Whisper White that I scored every 1/2 inch using the Scoring Board.  3 Circles for buttons and the sentiment from Bring on the Cake embossed in white complete the card.

Jordan had fun celebrating his birthday - he's had an eventful year - last summer in Slovakia on a missions trip and almost 2 months ago he started his first full time job.  He and Lisa continue working with the high school group at their church together as well.  We love Lisa and she's become a great addition to our family as well as Jordan to hers.

Keep Stamping,

Moving Forward

Hi Stampers,

Well it seems like we've had all 4 seasons in the last week or so here in Chicagoland - had the A/C on for 2 days because it was in the 80's and now the heat's back on - crazy weather - I'm just glad it didn't snow!

Today's share is one of the cards we made at April's Moving Forward class, featuring the Ronald McDonald House stamp set for this year - Stampin' Up donates money from each stamp set sold to the Ronald McDonald House charities.

This card uses the bicycle, bird and flower stamps from this set and the colors are Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Midnight Muse.  I stamped the bicycle image in Midnight Muse and then used the Labels Collection Framelits to cut out the image and background piece.  I also used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to add the bird and the flowers right where I wanted them.  This is a Z-fold card so the Real Red card base is scored at 5.5 and 2.75".  I ran the Daffodil Delight piece through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan embossing folder. I cut the stamps from the Moving Forward stamp set apart so I could use the sayings separately as I've done here with the Thinking of You which was stamped in Midnight Muse and then punched with the Word Window punch and the Midnight Muse piece with the Modern Label punch.  The small flower is punched with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch.

This cheery card would brighten anyone's day.  Hope you enjoyed it.

Keep Stamping - hope to see you at my next class - Copy the Catalog on May 18!  RSVP today!
