Busy, Busy

Hi Stampers!

Wow...August has flown by and I thought I'd share another of the cards we made at my August stamp camp.

This card is very simple but I loved the color combination of the Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder on the Early Espresso cardstock. I stamped the Pleasant Poppies background stamp in Versamark ink and used the colored embossing powder to heat emboss it. The banner sentiment is from Sweet Essentials stamped in Early Espresso. I accented it with a Glimmer Brad in Turquoise.

This simple card looks great in real life and now that Stampin' Up has so many colored embossing powders the possibilities are endless.

Hope you can join me for my next stamp camp on September 15 at 1:00! RSVP today!

Enjoy your week!

New In Colors

Hi Stampers,

Just wanted to share some of the projects we made at my stamp camp last week - the theme was Nature and Banners.

This card only has the nature (flowers) part of the theme but it uses alot of new products from the catalog: the colors are the new In Colors Primrose Petals (ribbon), Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green. I also used the new In Color Dahlias as well. I stamped this image from Button Buddies - I colored the vase in Soft Suede and the leaves in Gumball Green and then stamped it onto my Whisper White cardstock. I used one of the Labels Collection framelits for the Big Shot to cut out the stamped image and added the Dahlias. I attached the label piece to the Gumball Green and then did the paper piercing around the image by using one of our new templates - this one is part of a 3 pack of templates from the Holiday mini (page 30). I added some of the new Primrose Petals stitched ribbon and added the sentiment which is from another new set

Last day for the Reason to Smile set

Hi Stampers,

As of tomorrow, the Reason to Smile stamp set will no longer be available so I thought I'd share one more card that uses this cute stamp set.

This time I again used Daffodil Delight, Basic Black and Whisper White. I heat embossed the flowers in White on the black cardstock and then stamped them in Daffodil Delight on the Whisper White. The sentiment is from Curly Cute and I used Daffodil Delight ribbon to finish the card.

Hope you enjoy your week - I'm preparing for my Friday night Stamp Camp - hope to see you there!

Keep Calm...

Hi Stampers,

Hope that your week is going well. I originally wrote this post a few weeks back but then Stampin' Up had to suspend the sale of this hostess set because the "Keep Calm" phrase which is seen everywhere had some copyright issues. But as of yesterday, the issues are resolved and it's available again so I thought I'd share this card today.

I made this card for my monthly Demonstrator Meeting a few months back since we could pre-order it before the new catalog started. The colors used are Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White, which I took from the Floral District DSP I used. I stamped the Keep Calm and the Stamp On separately. Then I stamped the flower stamp on White in Tangerine Tango and accented it with a rhinestone and attached it to a Baja Breeze square. The Baja Breeze card was run through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot embossing folder.

I'm sure we'll be seeing this phrase alot in the next few weeks as the Olympics start in London this weekend. It was originally popular in Great Britain during World War II .

Keep Stamping - it's good to have an indoor hobby with all the heat this summer!

Another Smile Card

Hi Stampers,

Just wanted to share another card made with the Reason to Smile set - only $5 with an order of $50 in product.

This card uses Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White. I stamped the flower in Basic black on the bottom of the card and the center flower which I punched out with the 1.75" circle punch. I added the Scallop Border to the card and embossed the sentiment in White (from Perfect Pairs) and it was finished. Love this color combo!

Trying to stay in and beat the heat - 3 days over 100 is too much and the a/c is having a tough time keeping up as well.
Hope it's cooler where you are!

Now a Reason to Smile sample

Hi Stampers,

Well the power came back on and then it went out again today so I figured I'd better get this sample uploaded before it happens again.

I sat down and made a few samples with this cute set you can get for only $5 with a $50 order of products using Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Basic Black. This simple layout is one that I really like using the daisy stamp from this set. I stamped the daisy in Melon Mambo and then used the 1 3/8" square punch to punch out the daisies and attached then to some Basic Black that I cut to frame them. I stamped the daisy in Melon Mambo for the background and stamped the Get Well from Perfectly Penned in Basic Black. I added a piece of Basic Black Polka Dot ribbon before adding the squares across the top.

You can find out more about this special by clicking the top left icon on my blog - order today!
