Jingle All the Way

Hi there and Happy Winter!

Well looks like winter is here - blizzard and all! Tonight is a good night to stay in that's for sure. I thought I'd share another Christmas project. I really love the Decor Element "Jingle All the Way" and have used it in several different sizes for different projects. This project is a shadowbox frame. I applied the Decor Element to the front of the frame. Then I used Sticky Strip to attach all the jingle bells to the sides and the rest of them fell to the bottom. I did use lots of Jingle Bells but I like the way it turned out.

Today I'm sharing another holiday card or really two cards with you. I saw this one on someone's blog and since I had just purchased the Movers & Shapers die for the Big Shot I thought I'd try it. The Movers & Shapers die is great because it cuts and scores your card using the shape you choose. You can place the shape (here it's the ornament and Bashful Blue cardstock) anywhere on your card. I then used the Delightful Decorations stamp to stamp the snowflake ornament in Bashful Blue and used the Ornament punch. This is the simple version of this card on the right. Then, to step it up just a bit on the card on the left, I stamped the ornament in Bashful Blue, but then I Versamarked over the ornament and heat embossed it to give it some sparkle with Irridesent Ice embossing powder, which is clear embossing powder with glitter. I know it doesn't show up all that well in the picture, but I wanted to show you that you can take a simple card and step it up with just one simple thing.

Can't believe it's December already!

Man, this year has flown by and even though it was about 60 degrees today in Elmhurst, it's December! I have lots of Christmas things to share with everyone so I'll try to post a bit more often this month.

My first sample is one that I actually stamped way back in August at Stampin' Up's annual convention in Salt Lake City. This card was one of our make & takes - it was my 10th convention and definitely one of the perks of being an SU demonstrator! This card uses both the Tree Trimmings and Sweet Season stamp sets, which are featured on pages 28-29 in the catalog. The ornaments are stamped in Garden Green & Real Red on Very Vanilla, cut out and popped up with my favorite Stampin' Up product - Stampin' Dimensionals. The greeting and the ornament hangers are stamped in Chocolate Chip, the Garden Green ornament has a Clear Rhinestone brad and the bow is the great Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon (this ribbon is Real Red Stitched on the reverse side).

I thought I'd show you an example or two of one of the bundles using the Four Square Stamp Set and the Scallop Square Punch & the Trio Flower Punch. The 3 X 3 card on the left was made at my "Copy the Catalog" Stamp Camp last spring using Real Red, Only Orange and Bashful Blue, as well as Whisper White cardstock.

Then for a Convention Swap I changed it slightly and made the 3 X 3 card on the right using Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry and Old Olive and the Star punch as well as the Scallop Square. Just some quick and easy ideas for this really cute stamp set and punch. Both times I stamped the image twice, cut out the word "Congrat" with my snips and used Dimensionals to pop it off the card.

Another calendar insert to share with you today for Thanksgiving. This one was pretty easy to do - I used Soft Suede (my new favorite neutral color), More Mustard and Elegant Eggplant in cardstock and ribbon. The DSP is Autumn Traditions and the "Grateful" is from Falling Leaves.

Hope everyone enjoyed yet another beautiful day - seemed more like spring than November, but I'm sure real Chicago weather is right around the corner!

I know this next week will be busy for me as I look forward to hosting Thanksgiving, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I'm grateful for my family and friends!!

Sorry that I haven't posted much lately - November is turning out to be one busy month!

Anyway...today's card share is my take on a popular project - the Scallop Circle dress. This is made by using the Big Shot and Scallop Circle die and making a pattern to cut the dress out. I used the Cottage Wall DSP in this card. The card itself uses Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry and Orchid Opulence cardstock, Rich Razzleberry ink and the Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches. The belt is made with White Taffeta Ribbon, one of the flowers from the Trio flower punch and a silver brad. The sentiment is from Short & Sweet, one of my favorite greeting sets! I really love this dress pattern!

Hope everyone is having a good week - I'm just happy there's no rain in Elmhurst this week! I'm sharing a few more of the inserts we made last week at the Wood Calendar Stamp Camp - this one uses one of my favorite sets from the Holiday Mini Catalog - Autumn Splendor. This set is so easy to use and comes out beautiful when you emboss it, as I have here. I stamped it in Gold Encore on both the Really Rust and Taken with Teal Cardstock and then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. Then I cut the leaves out and curled them around a chopstick to give them some dimension. The background cardstock is Chocolate Chip and I used DSP from the Autumn Meadows DSP from the Mini catalog as well. The letters are cut out with the Big Shot using the Timeless Type alphabet in Really Rust.
